Bio-based 1,4- butanediol (BDO)

Molecular weight: 90.12
Characteristics: It is colourless and viscous oily liquid. The solidification point is 20.1 C, the melting point is 20.2 C, the boiling point is 228 C, the relative density is 1.0171 (20/4 C), and the refractive index is 1.4461. Flash point (cup) at 121 C. Soluble in methanol, ethanol, acetone, slightly soluble in ether. It is hygroscopic and odorless, while the entrance is slightly sweet.
Advantages: Bio-based 1,4-butanediol is made from bio-based succinic acid by esterification, hydrogenation, purification and other processes and the content of bio-carbon is more than 80%. The biodegradable plastics such as PBAT, PBS, PBSA and PBST using 1,4- butanediol as raw material is really biodegradable plastics, which is fully conforming to the standard of biomass in various countries.
Application field
1,4- butanediol (BDO) is an important organic and fine chemical raw material. It is widely used in the fields of medicine, chemical industry, textile, papermaking, automobile and daily chemical industry. It is the basic raw material for the production of polybutylene terephthalate (PBT) engineering plastics and PBT fiber. It is the necessary raw material for production of biodegradable plast PBAT, PBS, PBSA, PBST and so on.
